Ilett Digital is a digital marketing agency based on the Gold Coast. We handle personal information in the course of running our own business and in the course of running marketing for our clients. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can ask us to do about it.
It applies to our website, our services and our day to day business operations. We are bound by the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
When you visit our website we collect technical and usage data: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, pages visited, time on site, navigation path and referral source. This comes from cookies and similar technologies, described in section 8.
Where you engage us as your agency, we access and process data on your behalf. That typically includes campaign performance data from advertising platforms, website analytics and conversion tracking, lead and enquiry records, and performance metrics from your search and social profiles. This data remains yours. We process it to deliver the services you have engaged us for.
We send service updates to clients as part of delivering the work. We send strategy and insight emails only to people who have subscribed, and every one of those emails carries an unsubscribe link. We publish client results as case studies only with that client's agreement.
We share information with third parties where it is necessary to deliver our services. We do not sell personal information.
Accountants, legal advisers and IT security providers, where they need the information to advise us.
We may disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect our rights, property or safety or that of others. If the business is sold or merged, information may transfer as part of that transaction.
Some of the platforms and providers we use store and process data outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. Where information is transferred overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access or disclosure. That includes encrypted transmission and storage, access controls limiting who inside the business can see what, regular security updates and monitoring, reputable third party payment processing, and regular backups.
No system is perfect. If we become aware of a data breach likely to cause serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires.

We keep personal information only as long as we need it to deliver our services, meet our legal and tax obligations, and resolve any disputes. Client records are generally retained for the duration of the relationship plus the period Australian tax and corporations law requires. Marketing and analytics data is kept for as long as it remains useful and the relevant platform retains it.
Our website links to other sites and services. We are not responsible for how they handle your information. Read their privacy policies before giving them anything.
Our services are for businesses and are not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
We update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. When we make a significant change we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, tell existing clients directly.
